Ambassador Legacies
Leaders. Legacy. Impact.
Our student ambassadors are leaders of today who help incoming students learn about our college so they can become the leaders of tomorrow. We asked our ambassadors to share how they want to be remembered for the impact they made during their time on Rocky Top.
“Legacy is a strange way to understand it, but I want my impact on campus to involve helping my fellow students ensure that they feel comfortable expressing themselves, particularly in terms of pride in their differences. Personally, I hope that my interactions with faculty, staff, and students help them be able to understand and respect students with a variety of gender expressions.”
Ivy Kiernan, Senior
Major: English Literature and Cinema Studies
Hometown: Adamsville, TN
“I hope that even though I was not able to achieve everything that I wanted to do, that I made an impact some way on campus.”
Mia Lane, Senior
Major: Neuroscience
Hometown Nashville, TN
“Through my involvement at UT, I hope to encourage more students to make the most out of their college experience and willingly dive into new challenges. College has exposed me to opportunities outside of my comfort zone through synthesizing new knowledge through research, finding my voice in public speaking, and gain confidence in meeting new people and traveling to new places around the world. Because these opportunities have helped me grow both personally and professionally, I hope to set an example for others entering UT as well as make my mentors at UT proud of my work.”
Tyler Myers, Sophomore
Major: Microbiology and Neuroscience
Hometown: Brentwood, TN
“I hope to leave behind a legacy of kindness and dedication. I want to look back on my time at UT and know that I made an impact by supporting those who need it most. I want my legacy to be one of whole-hearted investment in myself, the things I am involved in or working towards, and my community.”
Katherine Reed, Senior
Major: Biological Sciences with concentrations in Ecology and Evolutionary Biology and Biochemistry/Cellular and Molecular Biology

“I hope that I leave a legacy of hard work and kindness after I graduate from the University of Tennessee. I want to be remembered for giving my all to every endeavor and loving people well along the way.”
