Join the Journey Campaign Update

We are Tennessee’s flagship university, but the power of UT extends beyond our state’s borders. As UT positions itself among the nation’s elite universities, we are working to set UT apart and create a student experience that reaches beyond the ordinary.

In 2012, we launched the Join the Journey campaign with an ambitious goal – to raise $1.1 billion in eight years for the university. As we near the end of the campaign and reflect on our progress, we are overwhelmed and incredibly proud of our Volunteer family’s generosity. The difference between a good university and a great university is the level of philanthropic support from our alumni and friends. Thanks to our supporters, we have exceeded our goal.

During the 2019 fiscal year, 5,820 individuals donated to the College of Arts and Sciences. Our alumni make up 60 percent of that total. Thanks to their dedication to Rocky Top and the ongoing support of our faculty and staff, we have raised 116 percent of our $100 million campaign goal for the college. Need-based support is critical for our student population, and we have surpassed our goals for scholarship support based on student need and merit. We have more than 400 endowments that provide support for faculty, research, and strategic priorities in the college.
